Maury County Students Invited to Meet with Meharry Medical College Psychiatric Residents

Students from across Maury County will gain the opportunity to hear about STEM careers, with an emphasis in health / medicine and mental care, on Tuesday, August 29, when the Tennessee Psychiatric Association (TPA) will host Meharry Medical College psychiatric residents at Puckett’s in Downtown Columbia.

From 6:30-7:30 p.m., students and parents from around Maury County are invited to hear from the residents at an informal question-and-answer session and networking event in the upstairs space of the restaurant.

The event will provide an opportunity for students to hear from the residents on why they chose to pursue medicine and what the medical school experience is like, as well as talk with the residents and ask questions.

Those interested in pursuing a career in STEM industries or medicine are particularly encouraged to attend.

Email Jackie Cavnar, executive director of TPA, at jcavnar@mhamt.org or call (615) 312-3122 with any questions about the event.
