Maury County teachers learn new lessons

SPRING HILL — Middle Tennessee science teachers were hard at work last week learning new attention-grabbing experiments during an American Society for Metals Materials Camp at the Northfield Workforce Development and Conference Center.

Stepping into the shoes of their own stuweb1_7-14-16TeachersCampBenRohlingRobertNortonCentral_0dents, the teachers listened to lectures and took part in experiments all related to material science, an interdisciplinary subject which includes studies in physics and chemistry.

During the week-long program the teachers conducted experiments which included creating crystals using corn starch and water, molding plastic paperclips and blowing glass.
