Monday, November 10, 2008 First Farmers & Merchants Bank held their groundbreaking ceremony for their new Northside Branch located on the Nashville Hwy.  
Poplar Estates Retirement Center held their groundbreaking ceremony for their new addition "The Gardens at Poplar Estates". Poplar Estates is located at 1310 Rosewood Drive in Columbia.
Medical Necessities held their groundbreaking ceremony for their new location at 907 W. James Campbell Blvd. The new location will open Summer 2008.

A groundbreaking ceremony was held for Destiny Development. They are breaking ground  for their new subdivision, Sweetwater Estates, on Mooresville Pike.
