National HealthCare Corporation/Maury Regional breaks ground on skilled-nursing care center in Columbia

National HealthCare Corporation has broken ground on a new skilled nursing and transitional care center at 5004 Trotwood Ave. in Columbia that will open in the fall of 2016 and expand the company’s services in Maury County.

NHC President Steve Flatt and Maury Regional Medical Center CEO Alan Watson were joined for the groundbreaking ceremony July 31 by local government and business leaders, including Columbia Mayor Dean Dickey and Maury Alliance President Wil Evans.

The new center, called NHC-Maury Regional Transitional Care Center, represents an $18.3 million investment by NHC, which will lease the building to the joint venture operating company and create more than 125 jobs. It is a joint venture between NHC, which Flatt calls “one of the nation’s leading senior care companies,” and Maury Regional Medical Center, a major acute care hospital serving middle Tennessee. To read the complete story, click here
