Maury County Chamber & Economic Alliance Expands Advocacy Efforts in Partnership with Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce

The Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce and the Maury County Chamber and Economic Alliance announced today an advocacy partnership between the two organizations that will strengthen the region’s unified business voice in the Tennessee General Assembly. The regional advocacy affiliation already includes the Rutherford County Chamber and the Hendersonville Area Chamber.

Maury County Chamber and Economic Alliance members will have access to Middle Tennessee Business Voice, an online tool administered by the Nashville Area Chamber, which tracks legislative issues and facilitates communications with elected officials. Its members will also have the opportunity to participate in an annual policy survey that will help shape the alliance’s annual legislative agenda.

“This partnership will enable our members to have access to up-to-date information relative to the actions of the General Assembly, as well as a quick and easy method for getting engaged in the process,” says Alliance President Wil Evans. “We are excited about this opportunity to give our members a stronger voice, as we work with other chambers in middle Tennessee  to create jobs and economic prosperity in our region.”

“A regional business voice is critical to maintaining a strong business environment in Middle Tennessee,” says Nashville Area Chamber President and CEO Ralph Schulz. “Members of the Hendersonville Area, Rutherford County and Nashville Area chambers welcome the Maury County Chamber and Economic Alliance to this coalition so we can more clearly inform legislators about the issues that are important to the businesses of this area.”

This advocacy partnership provides the means for an expanded and more influential effort to advocate on issues that are important to the business community of middle Tennessee. While this collective effort is important when the participating chambers share priorities, each organization retains its own membership and continues to have complete control over its own legislative positions.
